You have the right to receive reasonable and appropriate interim protective measures and accommodations:
The University will address all safety, emotional, and physical well-being concerns for individuals involved in sexual misconduct and/or interpersonal violence incidents. Interim measures may be imposed regardless of whether formal disciplinary action is sought. Contact Student Care Services at 407-823-5607 or email caremanager@ucf.edu if you would like support, have questions about interim protective measures and/or reporting options.
Interim protective measures include but are not limited to:
- No contact orders
- Counseling services and assistance setting up an initial appointment
- Alternative course completion options
- Potential housing relocation
- Letters of support
- Escort/transportation to ensure safe movement between classes and activities
As stated in UCF’s Golden Rule Handbook “a complainant refers to anyone who discloses having been subjected to sex discrimination, which includes sexual assault/misconduct, sexual exploitation, relationship violence, stalking, sexual or gender-based harassment, retaliation, or complicity in the commission of any act prohibited by the Rules of Conduct Section UCF-5-008(5) or Organizational Rules of Conduct UCF- 5.012(5), regardless of whether the person makes a report or seeks action under that policy”. Confidential victim advocates offer support, crisis intervention, options, information, referrals, and practical assistance to anyone who has been impacted by crime, violence, or abuse. They are well versed in both the conduct and criminal processes and will be able to answer questions and/or accompany you through the process. They will accompany you to forensic exams. Advocates are on-call and available 24/7, including after hours, weekends, and holidays. Advocates help complainants explore their rights and options, so they can make informed decisions about what is best for them. They also provide referrals to both on and off campus resources.

CAPS provides confidential, free, comprehensive psychological services to university-enrolled students. If you are visiting CAPS for the first time, you will be scheduled to meet with a counselor for an initial assessment. You may call or walk-in to make an appointment. Scheduling of these appointments starts at 8:30am each day Monday-Friday. If you are in crisis, please inform the receptionist and they will make every attempt to respond to you as soon as possible. You may also walk-in for a same day appointment. Additionally, you can call the main line 24/7 to speak to the counselor on call.

Student Health Services provides a number of confidential health-related services for students. This includes a women’s clinic devoted to providing a warm and sensitive environment for gynecological care. As such, the clinic is staffed by all female providers. There is no charge for an office visit or examination, but certain procedures and laboratory tests (i.e. pap smear) do require relatively small fees. Health Services offers a variety of different programs and referrals that can help assist with payment, or a waiver of payment, for STD tests. If you are a survivor of sexual assault, you should be eligible for a fee waiver for related medical services.

Student Legal Services provides enrolled students at UCF with legal counseling and court representation in various areas of the law. The staff attorneys interview each client individually in order to guide them about the areas of law that concern the student. Cases not covered by the program guidelines are referred to appropriate agencies or private attorneys through a lawyer referral service.

Student Care Services offers guidance, resources, and referrals to UCF students who are experiencing a distressing situation that significantly impacts academic or personal success. The SCS team coordinates referrals to campus and community resources, develops action plans for student success, oversees the Student of Concern process, and provides education and outreach to university and community members. Our goal is to intervene before a student reaches crisis level and ensure the safety of both the student and the UCF community.
